Lifepak 1000 batteries do not require recharging, and the battery has a charge indicator that shows how much charge is left in the battery. The battery’s approximate charge level can be seen on the fuel gauge, the readiness display, or the Lifepak 1000 screen when the defibrillator is in use. It is recommended that the battery be installed in the defibrillator, if the defibrillator is unused, for a five-year standby time. A new non-rechargeable battery Pak can provide approximately 17 hours of “ON” time or over 440 discharges at 200 joules when properly maintained.
